Select a full-length film and identify the title, writer, director, major actors, and the year it was released.
•Summarize the story and plot of your chosen movie.
•Discuss whether your film is presented chronologically or non-linearly. In your discussion, address the following: ◦How did this aesthetic choice contribute to the general effect on the audience?
◦How are elements like character development or foreshadowing impacted by the choice of storytelling methods?

•If the film had followed a different presentation style, how would the general effect on the audience have been different?

The full length film that I chose is Saving Private Ryan.
Director: Steven Spielberg
writer: Robert Rodat
Major actors: Tom Hanks, Matt Damon, Tom Sizemore
Year it was released: 1998

The film Saving Private Ryan is about a group of men on a mission to find Private first class James Ryan. They are trying to find him because they had just found out that three of his brothers were killed in combat. James Ryan is the last of the sons within the family left. They are trying to find him to bring him home before it is to late. Saving Private Ryan is known for the realism portrayed in the film. The graphic was intense and it started shortly into the film. It started with the scene of Omaha Beach assault on June 6 1944. Even Vets during this time period of WWII, say how realistic this film is.

The film Saving Private Ryan was done non-linearly. It was not done chronologically. This film should clips from different scenes and different times. There the story line flowed well it was not exactly in order.

I believe that the film would had be way different if the presentation style would have. The impact on the audience may not have been as big as it was. This film shows so much action and does not skip out on being graphic. This is a true war film, that lets you feel how they must have film fighting in WWII. Actors within the film even said when you seen fear in their eyes in the film that it was true, because all the sounds of bombs exploding everywhere made the scenes they were in seem real.

The movie clip portrays graphic material, but shows the realism within the film
